A soft wind rustled the grass, the wind gave some relief from the hot summers heat. A small bee was ridding the summer breeze, looking for any flowers. Soon the bee landed on a guy sleeping under a tree. The bee crawled around looking for something to bring back to the hive. It slowly crawled to the edge of the mans mouth. Hikari breathed in deeply making the poor bee fall into his mouth. Hikari woke up choking and spiting, "Dumb ass bee." Hikari choked out, as the bee went flying out of his mouth. Stretching the sleep away Hikari got up and looked at the sun. "Shoot I am late for training," Hikari rushed around to pick up his bags and started to run toward the training grounds. This had been the 3 day in a row that he had over slept.
Hikari sighed, how he hated to run it wasn't like him. He liked to take things slow and easy, but he needed to get more training before his next mission. The soft grass land soon turned into dense forest. Hikari weaved in and out of the trees, hoping he would get some training in before dark. He ran around a tree and soon found himself running into another person.

Rekkusu was up on a tree branch with his back to the tree and his arms crossed. He had already seen Hikari coming due to his Byakugan. He turned his head to look as he came into clear view. Rekkusu's look was the same as usual, uninterested. He had been kicked off of his team only about two weeks ago, and ever since he just roamed around the village and forest slacking off and enjoying the free time until he became reassigned.
"You're in quite the rush Hikari." Hikari was a Jounin and only three years older than himself. Some might be ashamed to still be a genin when someone only three years older was at such a high rank already. It wasn't that Rekkusu was stupid or anything, he just hadn't found any motivation, nor had anyone really tried anymore. He ended up becoming one of the leaf ninja that no one really wanted to deal with, so he knew it would be some time before anyone would accept him into their team.

Hikari smiled "Oh hi Rekkuse." He had heard things about Rekkuse from the other leaf ninja. Hikari didn't really get why being lazy was such a bad thing, and yet thats all anyone would say about Rekkuse is he's lazy. Hikari was about to walk away, but an idea came into his head. He knew Rekkuse was a ninja no one really wanted to deal with but I bet we have a lot in common. "Hey Rekkuse, do you want to go get some food with me? Maybe after that we could go training together?" Hikari looked at Rekkuse hoping he would take the offer. It had been sometime since he had trained with someone. To tell the truth he was kind of getting lonely not hanging around with anyone.

He raised an eyebrow at Hikari's offer. He had been pretty sure that he had become an outcast in Konoha. In fact, he had kind of worked towards that goal lately, and now he was feeling a bit like a failure. Rekkusu thought about it. He had never really gotten aquainted with Hikari, so he didn't really know all that much about him. "Yeah I don't think so..." He said with a hint of hesitation. At that point his stomach growled and he looked down in annoyance.
Rekkusu sighed and then shrugged, "Well on second thought... I suppose it couldn't hurt. Your treat I'm assuming." He never really had a problem with what many would consider rude. To him it was just being straight forward and honest. Not to mention he had no cash anyways since no one wanted to assign him any missions until he was assigned a new team. How he wished he could just do the missions alone. He stood up straight and stretched. "Well lead the way."

Hikari didn't mind treating, he was just happy to finally have someone to talk to. Going on missions all the time didn't really give him a chance just to chill in the village and talk with other ninja. Walking down the streets of the village Hikari kept his eyes open for any food that sounded good to him. If he was treating then he was going to get to pick what food they where going to eat. He didn't do this to be mean to Rekkusu, this was just how he was when it came to buying food for others. Hikari stopped in front of a small ramen stand, "ramen good with you?" He asked, he wanted to pick where they ate but he felt bad doing it. He didn't want to eat something Rekkusu hatted.

He followed Hikari through Konoha watching people as they passed by. Many looked at him rolling their eyes in annoyance and he couldn't help but to have a slight smile. It amused him to no end to know that his actions had gotten him so much attention. There hadn't been anyone kicked off of a team in quite awhile, so it was a big deal to many, just not Rekkusu. He looked ahead to Hikari as he scouted around for a place to eat at. He didn't really care where they went, especially since he wasn't paying. After all, beggers can't be choosers.
He again began to let his eyes wander and not pay attention to Hikari anymore. He may have invited him to lunch, but that didn't make them friends, only aquaintances. He stopped and looked forward as Hikari asked him something. "Oh uh... Ramen, right, yeah that sounds good." Again, he wasn't about to be choosy when it was free.

Hikari sat down at a small table, he looked around awkwardly as Rekkusu and him sat in silences. He let out a small cough just to do something to break the silence. "So" Hikari said dragging out the word. Hikari was not sure what to say, after all he really didn't know Rekkusu all to well. He shifted in his set and wished the waitress would hurry up with their food. At least then it would kind of break the silence. "So I heard you got kicked off your team." Hikari said, he hated bring up such a topic but it was the only topic he could think to talk about. He hoped that Rekkusu wouldn't mind that he had brought it up. But he really did want to know more about it. He had heard others talk about it, but he didn't know how much that was said was true.

Rekkusu had been staring past Hikari outside. He watched the people stare some more and then turned his attention to Hikari when he heard him speak. Then he brought up the recent event of his. He sighed. "Well apparently I'm not much of a team player, though I'm not complaining. I actually like the freetime here and there. From what I hear though, no one wants to take me on their team, and I suppose that's fine with me really. I'd much rather do missions alone anyways. People tend to get too serious about all these missions. I mean really, a D rank mission can't really be that important to this village." He didn't mind the question, cause it wasn't something he was really trying to hide. The fact was he didn't really care too much at all about the ordeal.

Hikari stared blankly for a few seconds then busted up laughing. "You know if I had been smart I would of done the same thing that you are doing now. Trust me being a jounin is not all that fun. I barley get any time to myself, you always have to rush to your mission. Then you have to rush to get through the mission so you can come back and do a new mission. Its so not what I like to do, I like to take things slow you know what I mean?"
Hikari had gotten serious at the end of his speech. It was true he never had wanted to be rushed like this all the time. He looked down at the table as the waitress put down two bowls of ramen. "To tell you the truth I never wanted to be a ninja in the first place." He said breaking as he broke apart his chopsticks.

Rekkusu broke apart his chopsticks and tilted his head a little. It was weird, but someone was actually in some way a little bit like him. Not entirely, but a little bit. "I don't mind being a Ninja, its my clan I despise. They're too old fashioned and are all about discipline and loyalty. Personally I think it's stupid." He took a bite of his ramen and enjoyed it quite a bit. He hadn't really gone out to eat in some time. Looking back up he grinned, "You know, you're the first person who's talked to me without that same look they all have."
This was definitely not something he was used. Everyone always looked at him with some bit of disgust, because he was a Hyuga, and the Hyuga were supposed to be very high class and respectable, and to most Rekkusu was neither of those.

Hikari looked up from his food, "I don't like to stereotype people. I mean everyone is deferent right? Even if they are from the same clan you are not going to have everyone in it be exact clones. Even if some of the older people in the clans wish it would be that way." Hikari stopped to shovel in more food into his mouth. He finished chewing his mouth full of noodles and looked back up at Rekkusu. "I think that the people like you that can be understand that they are not just a copy and act on it are truly smart. They are not just blind sheep following one another." He smile and went back to shoveling in food, it felt good to talk to someone that was kind of like him.
Normally others would laugh at his words, they where the sheep in his mind. To dumb to realize that they where just following on another. Though he did feel bad for Rekkusu, out off all the clans he had to be born to the Hyuga. They where by far the strictest out of all of the clans.

"Very true." He started really digging into his ramen now, savoring the taste, but more or less just stuffing his face. "But don't get me wrong, I don't mind being a Hyuga. I just don't like the way things are set up. The Byakugan's not such a bad thing to be honest. If I can just get the Eight Trigrams Rotation and 64 palms figured out I'll be doing quite well, but lately... ugh... just not too motivated I guess." He finished his ramen and sat back in his seat. "Thank you." Those were not words he used to often, mainly due to the fact that no one really ever did anything for him cause most thought he was a bit worthless in the village.

"You are very welcome" Hikari said smiling, he finished up his ramen and gave the waitress his money. "Well now that we are full lets go hit the training grounds. Then I can show you that the Hyuga clan is no where near as good as the Hatake clan." Hikari laughed of course he was just joking around, he knew with the power of the Byakugan Hikari wouldn't stand a chance. Though he would give Rekkusu a run for his money, maybe he would get lucky and Rekkusu would be to lazy to use his Byakugan. He laughed to himself, knowing his luck it would be the one time he would use his Byakugan. Shrugging his shoulders he walked out the ramen shop.
He just wished he had his fathers sharingan, to bad he was the only one to get it. Maybe then he would of had a fighting chance against Rekkuse. Oh well he thought, I will just have to make do with what I have.

Rekkusu nodded and got up from his seat. "Yeah well I'm nothing like my father, Neji Hyuga, so don't expect such a fearsome opponent. Besides, you are a Jounin after all." Rekkusu laughed as he followed Hikari out of the ramen shop. He was well aware of the Hatake clan, and the infamous Copy Ninja Kakashi. However he was also very aware of his own father's history, and the extents that he had been able to take his Byakugan. He was nothing in comparison to his father, and at times it annoyed him, cause that's who he always got compared to.
He wondered what kind of incredible jutsu Hikari had to be experienced in. If he had known the Eight Trigrams form better, then he might just be a worthy opponent. Though he figured with his Byakugan he could definitely give Hikari a bit of a challenge. After all, not everyone had one of the three legendary eyes.

Hikari slowed down as he reached the edge of the training grounds. "Alright when I we go into the training grounds I am no longer your comrade. We will say I am a ninja from the sand village. No I don't want you to hold back, but that being said I would like to stay alive for the time being so don't completely destroy me." Hikari said laughing as he entered into the training ground. With in a flash he was gone running through the trees of the training ground. If Rekkusu wanted to beat him he would have to catch up to him first.
He knew hiding would be no good. Rekkusu would be able to find him easily, but if he could get enough distance between Rekkusu he could fight him long distance. Staying away from his Eight Trigrams Rotation. Hikari focused more chakra into his feet, he needed to be ready for Rekkusu. The stored up chakra in his feet would help him move faster when the time came.
